ORLANDO, Fla. – News 6 and AdventHealth Centra Care are teaming up once again to offer free flu shots in Central Florida.

Centra Care will host three events in October at which Central Floridians can receive free flu shots. No appointment, insurance or identification is needed.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends an annual influenza vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older, including healthy adults.

Vaccination is especially important for people at higher risk of serious influenza complications or those living with or caring for people at higher risk for serious influenza complications.

It takes two weeks for the vaccine to take effect.

Here’s when and where the events will take place:

Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Centra Care in Clermont

  • 2345 E. Hwy 50, Clermont, FL 34711

Monday, Oct. 14, at Centra Care in Sanford

  • 4451 W. 1st St. Sanford, FL 32771

Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Central Care in East Orlando

  • 11550 University Blvd., Orlando, Florida 32817

The events will also offer free food, prizes and face painting.
