OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Here at this 1,400 acre Ranch in Kenansville, the Silver Spurs Riding Club raises and takes care of more than 120 horses and bulls.

“We’re only one of the three stock contractors in the country, the PRCA. We not only own our own livestock, but we also produce our own rodeo,” said volunteer Scott Ramsey.

“These animals are kept here when they’re not at rodeos. They’re cared for here. They’re fed here. This is our practice arena for them,” said Silver Spurs Riding Club Big Boss Randy Booth.

The nonprofit has held the reins for decades — and they lease their livestock athletes to several different rodeos across the country.

“We actually sent some bulls this year out west that are still out west. They’ve been gone since April. So they’ve been to some of the biggest rodeos in the country,” Booth said.

Several events, like the 7th Annual Boots, Bulls and Barrels happening on Saturday, raise thousands of dollars to give back to the community.

“We give as much money as we can away. In the last three years, I believe we’ve given away over $100,000 to local charity groups,” Ramsey said.

Volunteers with the club said it’s all about investing in Osceola County to help future generations.

“We need agriculture and also in Osceola County agro-tourism. These animals and this ranch are part of that,” said Booth.

Boots, Bulls and Barrels benefits the Silver Spurs Riding Club’s annual scholarship fund, given to graduating seniors in Osceola County.

The rodeo starts Saturday at the Silver Spurs Riding Club Arena at 7:30 p.m.
