Florida Highway Patrol seeks driver after Orlando hit-and-run injures scooter rider thumbnail

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help as it searches for a hit-and-run driver who troopers say struck a 16-year-old girl on a scooter.

Around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, FHP says the scooter driver was traveling north on Guy Road on the right shoulder, just south of Bearle Road in Orlando, when she was struck by a vehicle from behind. After the crash, troopers say the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

The teen was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

At this time, FHP is not able to provide information on the hit-and-run vehicle or driver.

This crash remains under investigation.
