Driver dead after single-vehicle crash in Osceola County, FHP says thumbnail

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Osceola County left a driver dead, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 11:25 p.m. along Canoe Creek Road, north of Sunset Ranch Road, troopers said.

According to a preliminary FHP crash report, a 47-year-old Kenansville woman was driving an SUV southbound on Canoe Creek Road when she lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason. The SUV traveled off the roadway to the right, rotated and came to final rest overturned in a ditch, the report states.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said, adding she was wearing a seat belt during the crash.

FHP is still investigating.
